 ONE HANDED MAMA

Passionate Foodie. Excited New Mom. Modern Day Hippie. Just a few terms I'd use to describe myself...

Join me on my journey through motherhood, organic and natural cooking, and a new "green" lifestyle; all while maintaining my motto of "Live Life, Love Life". Food and Family are two of the most important things in my life. I firmly believe we must enjoy life while we're here; and I believe that I can extend that life and that of my family by making wholesome natural food that can help us and heal us, yet still tastes amazing. Of course, I can't completely starve myself of the truly wonderful things in life (cookies, popcorn, pancakes, ice cream -- and so on), BUT I sure would like to use my passion for exploration and cooking combined to try. Why can't I have the best of all worlds -- everything in moderation, right?

And yes, I have two perfectly good hands... so, where does the "One Handed Mama" come to play ?

Well-- as I dive head first into motherhood, I'm learning to do all the things I love with only ONE free hand. Let's face it: I can't bare to let my newborn scream and cry as I try to prepare and share with the world a delicious meal or new recipe (which usually requires two hands). I am her only sense of security, her food source; and she is my love. And, as much as he'd like to be, daddy is just no help these first few months (sad but true). We call it "Not The Mama" syndrome in our house (ever seen Dinosaurs? LoL). SO, I must cook, clean, eat, sleep -- type -- with my new best friend in tow.

Let the journey begin!

  1. Well I can appreciate your idea of using the name "one handed mama", I would be cautious of what it really means. I'm am not one of those over sensitive women who is offended by everything, but I am in fact a one handed mama. Until you truly have only one hand to use, know that having two is quite a gift.
